Who you work with
I'm David, an independent developer in Novi Sad. Since 2022 I've built web applications, internal tools and business websites for founders and operators who wanted one person accountable for the whole build rather than a team to manage. The problems I take on most often now are operational: the systems a company runs its day on. A client from that first year is still the featured review on this page.
I prefer sending frequent work-in-progress updates so there is time to catch anything that feels wrong early, rather than presenting a finished build and hoping it matches the expectation. I care about speed and the small details, but the goal is simple: you always know where the build stands, and the result holds up after launch.

Working model
Four things change when the person you brief is the person writing the code.
Questions, decisions and changes go straight to the developer, so nothing is relayed and nothing is lost on the way through.
The architecture is decided once, by the person who then has to live with it, and that same person is answerable after launch.
With one person delivering, there is almost no coordination cost to carry, so more of your budget goes into the product itself.
You see the software while it is being built and can redirect it early, when changing direction is still cheap.
The difference isn’t how much you spend, it’s how much of it becomes software.

Most of it is business websites: new builds and serious rebuilds for companies that need the site to say clearly what they do and bring in enquiries. From there the work goes further, into internal tools and custom web applications for businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets, where logistics and dispatch is the area I know best. A site that needs rebuilding and a process held together by manual work are both a good starting point.
We start with a conversation about the idea, the business and what you need the final product to do. I'll ask for any references you have: rough layouts, websites you like, colours, functionality or even a basic sketch. From there I put together the first direction, send it over, and we refine it before moving deeper into the build.
Most projects start at around two weeks, but the timeline depends on the scope. Smaller builds can be quicker, while larger applications naturally take longer. I'll give you a realistic timeline once I understand what needs to be built.
For fixed-price projects, I take an upfront deposit of at least 30%, with the remaining payment split around agreed milestones when appropriate. For hourly work, I start with a minimum prepaid block of six hours. I only quote a project after I understand the scope properly, so the price is based on what actually needs to be built rather than a generic package.
Yes. Most communication can happen however you prefer: email, WhatsApp, Discord or calls when they're useful. I'm comfortable working entirely in English and with clients in different time zones.
I don't disappear when the project goes live. If there are bugs in the work I delivered, I fix them. I can also continue building new features, making improvements or maintaining the product when needed. For new functionality, I just need a clear explanation of what you want and we scope it like any other piece of work. You keep ownership of the project and the accounts it depends on; I can set up and manage the technical side without locking you into me.
